Structural Design Engineer – Data Centres – Sines, Portugal

We are currently partnering with a multidisciplinary consultancy with a global record of successful delivery on a range of projects including, but not limited to, Data Centres, Recladding, Medical Projects, Nursing homes, Clinics and many more. 

Due to continuous growth, they are now seeking a well experienced Structural Engineer to contribute to Data Centre construction projects from Sines, Portugal.

Responsibilities

•    Structural Design & Contractor Support
Provide structural engineering design services in support of the main contractor on a major data centre construction project, delivering practical, buildable solutions aligned with construction methodologies.
•    Structural Calculations & Design Verification
Produce and review detailed structural calculations for concrete and steel elements, temporary and permanent works, ensuring compliance with Eurocodes and Portuguese regulations.
•    Design Coordination & Technical Resolution
Work closely with contractor design teams, site engineers, and subcontractors to coordinate structural designs, resolve construction-driven technical issues, and manage design changes efficiently.
•    Technical Assurance & Compliance
Ensure all structural designs, calculations, and technical submissions meet project specifications, statutory requirements, and internal quality standards, supporting approvals and design sign-off processes.
•    Construction Phase Engineering Support
Provide ongoing structural engineering support during construction, responding to RFIs, reviewing shop drawings and method statements, and offering technical guidance to maintain design intent on site.

Requirements

Must have relevant degree level qualifications in CSA Engineering or similar
Must have 5+ years’ experience in a similar role working for a consultancy on large scale construction projects (preferably Data Centres)
Must be based within commutable distance of Sines, Portugal
Must have EU Passport or RTW in Portugal

Benefits

€75,000 - €80,000 + Hybrid working
